Abstract

The abstract is not intended as an introduction, but rather to present a synopsis of the work and, therefore, should be written on completion of the project. (300 word max).

Introduction

Contextualize the crime that has been investigated, as well as the different areas of STEAM education that have been covered while carrying out the project (400 words max).

Undertaken procedures

A clear description of how the research was carried out, the procedure and methods which were used, the materials that were necessary for the research. (1500 words max).

Analysis and results

This is the most important section in which the results obtained are described, presenting them in the form of a reasoned argument, using tables, graphs and images (1500 words max).

Conclusion

Finally, the conclusion. A clear, concise and scientifically based argument that reflects the difficulties that have arisen and how they were addressed. (300 words max).

References

This reflects the bibliography, the detailed bibliographic references of the web pages used and the exact sources from which the citations used in the research work come from.

Science competence

The teachers will evaluate the Science competence, checking if the students at their educational center can:

– Use the knowledge of biology, geology, physics and chemistry in the context of research.
– Interpret and express scientific information using the appropriate terminology.
– Select and use the basic laboratory material properly in the realization of the analyzes.

Technology competence

The teachers will evaluate the Technology competence, checking if the students at their educational center can:

– Handle instruments and technological devices in an appropriate way in the context of the research being carried out.
– Generate and modify multimedia or web elements, applying techniques appropriate to each type and respecting the intellectual property of the sources used.
– Actively participate, managing different applications of collaborative work, adopting attitudes of respect and collaboration that enable the creation of collective productions.

Engineering competence

The teachers will evaluate the Engineering competence, checking if the students at their educational center can:

– Schedule the completion of the project in order to achieve the objectives set, meeting the deadlines established by an integrated management.
– Carry out the procedures and protocols foreseen throughout the process in order to ensure results that meet the quality requirements.
– Implement areas of permanent improvement throughout the entire process that necessarily enables innovation.

Art competence

The teachers will evaluate the Art competence, checking if the students at their educational center can:

– Appreciate in a reflexive and critical way the elements that make up the historical, artistic and cultural heritage as the foundation of the identity of peoples and cultures in situations of exchange, intercultural dialogue and shared experiences.
– Use the means of producing images and sound to create audiovisual documents that meet the established requirements.
– Communicate orally and in writing with fluency, autonomy, creativity and efficiency.

Mathematic competence

The teachers will evaluate the Mathematic competence, checking if the students at their educational center can:

– Interpret and communicate information, arguments and results from the field of research, using the appropriate mathematical language.
– Use different modes of reasoning both to justify their own conclusions and the process followed and to critically analyze the results presented by others.
– Use autonomously and creatively, the tools of language and mathematical expression (numbers, algebraic expressions, graphs, functions, figures, most usual symbols, etc.) understanding and handling terms, notations and mathematical representations, to make explicit their own thinking in a clear and coherent way.

Power Point

Students can create a Power Point to use in the presentation of their research papers.

Video

Students can create a video describing the procedure they used in the laboratory. The video should be no more than 5 minutes.
